KUWAIT ANTI-CORRUPTION AUTHORITY PREPARES TO AMEND BRIBERY PENAL CODE

Kuwait City: Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority Officials said discussions were underway with the relevant committee of the Council of Ministers. This will enable the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (NASA) to take strong action in cases involving the collection of evidence in cases and corruption cases in the private sector. 


NASA said in a statement that the amendment was part of the Authority's efforts to combat corruption. Under the new rules, NASA will be able to take action, including dismissing a corrupt private employee. NASA officials said that the financial reports of government agencies started coming in after the Kovid crisis and that 26,487 statements were received last September alone.
