71 CASES OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE WERE REPORTED IN KUWAIT THIS WEEK

Kuwait City: In a single week, the Public Security Sector reported 71 cases of alcohol and drug abuse. The figures are current as of November 12. These cases have been referred to the Narcotics Control General Administration. According to officials, 62 cases involving drugs and nine involving alcohol were registered.


A total of 309 offenders were apprehended at 256 checkpoints across the six governorates. Around 250 people have been arrested for having expired residency permits. 59 people have fled the country. During this time, 710 people were involved in traffic accidents, and 16 people were arrested on suspicion of being criminals, according to officials. The Public Security Sector operates a 24-hour security campaign.
