Kuwait City: The high cost of living in Kuwait has become the talk of the town, as prices of consumables and products — whether food, vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, or other consumer goods such as medicine, clothing, cleaning materials, stationery, school materials, and so on — have increased two-fold since the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, making it difficult to make ends meet.

While consumers blame traders and businesspeople, the latter point the finger at goods exporting countries, citing the costs of completing procedures in all exporting countries, as well as the costs of shipping and importing, as well as the significant increase in stall and shop rents.
