KUWAIT: Several mosques in Kuwait witnessed the Istisqaa Prayers yesterday morning (rain-seeking prayers). The prayers are in accordance with the Prophetic Sunnah, and are held in supplication to His Almighty Allah for rain. An imam leads the two-rakaa prayer. The first rakaa begins with seven recitations of Allaho Akbar, while the second begins with five. After the prayers, the worshippers are addressed with a sermon, and the imam and attendees pray to Allah Almighty to bless the country with rain. As of yesterday, Kuwait had not experienced heavy rain this winter; however, there had been sporadic light rains.
