A bill worth KD1,000 has been introduced to raise the minimum pension for pensioners

KUWAIT CITY: Member of Parliament Osama Al-Munawer has introduced a measure to raise the minimum pension for pensioners to KD1,000.

The budget for the pension increase will be withdrawn from the state treasury, according to the measure.
Kuwaiti widows and divorcees, even those married to non-Kuwaitis, could receive a KD200 monthly payment, according to MP Yousef Al-Ghareeb.

He believes these women should work in the public sector or in enterprises where the government holds 51% or more of the stock.
