KUWAIT DOES NOT ISSUE CIVIL IDENTIFICATION CARDS THAT DO NOT CONTAIN A READABLE MICROPROCESSOR CHIP

Kuwait City: According to the Public Authority of Civil Information, some government agencies/ministries were unable to read the embedded microprocessor chip inserted in the Civil ID card because they had not updated their reading programme, which was distributed to all government agencies/ministries and required them to update their systems and websites.

According to the PACI, no Civil ID card for Kuwaiti nationals and expats is issued unless the microprocessor chip is readable by an automated system and contains valid data and information. PACI has urged concerned authorities to improve their systems to make it easier for tourists.
