Kuwait City: The Court of Appeals upheld a decision that acquitted a Central Jail inmate of possessing heroin with the intent to use it and sneaking it into prison in violation of prison laws and regulations. The Public Prosecution accused the inmate with possessing a narcotic substance (heroin) with intent to abuse after he was sentenced to three years and three months in prison for a drug crime case and life in prison for a drug trafficking case.

According to the case file, the warden of the Central Prison stated that he was executing his work as an observer of the inmates when he noticed the accused leave the prison infirmary. He halted on his way to the wing where he was staying, waved his hand, and approached him. The warden saw a box with the convict and opened it to find a nail clipper and a poster containing a beige liquid. During the hearing, lawyer Enam Haider emphasised "the pervasiveness of the accusation and the absence of the accused's connection to the seized contraband." Apart from the officer's statement, she confirmed that the prosecution documents were devoid of witnesses. Staff Jaber Al-Hamoud Al-Seyassah.
