KNPC, TWO EXPATRIATES WERE KILLED AND FIVE OTHERS WERE INJURED IN FIRE IN AHMADI

Kuwait City: The Kuwait National Petroleum Corporation (KNPC) said two people were killed and 10 others were injured in a fire that broke out during repairs to a gas liquefaction plant at the Ahmadi port refinery.


Five of the injured were taken from Al Adan Hospital to Al Babtain Hospital in critical condition.

The three injured are still being treated at Farwaniya Hospital and the condition of the two injured at the company's clinic is satisfactory. Oil Minister Dr. Mohammad Al Faris and company officials visited the site to assess the situation.  

The National Petroleum Company (NPC) said it was able to control the blaze in Unit No. 32, adding that it had "confirmed that the fire had not affected refinery and export operations." It also did not affect the local marketing and distribution activities of the Ministry of Power and Water.
