KUWAIT'S CYBER SECURITY BILL HAS BEEN APPROVED

Kuwait City: The Kuwaiti government approved a number of bills on the Capital Markets Authority's budget, including one establishing a national centre for cyber security and another modifying the statute governing the Kuwait Diplomatic Institute. This occurred during a cabinet meeting in Saif Palace presided over by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. The cabinet discussed the Economic Affairs Committee's recommendation on a draught law on the Capital Markets Authority's budget for fiscal year 2022-2023 during the meeting and approved the bill, which was then submitted to His Highness the Amir in preparation for referral to the National Assembly, Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al- Mohammad Al-Sabah said after the meeting. Furthermore, the cabinet discussed the Legal Affairs Committee's recommendations on draught decrees establishing the national centre for cyber security, as well as amending some provisions of Decree No. 390 of 2004 on Box Hill College Kuwait for Girls and Decree No. 156 of 2002 on Gulf University for Science and Technology.


Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, stated that the cabinet resolved to endorse the draught decrees and present them to His Highness the Amir. The cabinet was briefed on the recommendation for the Public Authority for Sports' strategy for 2022-2028, which aims to improve and promote sports while overcoming all hurdles to the future of sports and athletes in Kuwait.
