KUWAIT'S FOURT TELECOM NETWORK TO OPEN SOON

Kuwait City:  STC and Virgin Mobile Middle East and Africa have reached an agreement to bring a virtual mobile communication network to the country, said Amar Hayat, head of communications at the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority. A fourth virtual communication network has been approved by the Licensing Authority. According to the numbering plan, the phone numbers will start at 41.


The network will begin operations in the first quarter of this year. Amar Hayat also commented on the issue of disconnection of Marine Internet cables. There are two types of cables disconnected from Iraq and Dubai. Amar Hayat said that the separation from Iraq and Iran was affecting Kuwait and that it was outside Kuwait's territorial waters.
