MOI CREATES MECHANISM TO FOSTER TRUST BETWEEN POLICE AND SOCIETY

Kuwait City: In a circular issued by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Ministry of Interior identified more disciplined mechanisms in implementing orders to enter residential places, ensuring the implementation of police officers' duties within the borders while preserving the rights and dignity of those who have been arrested or searched. The Interior Ministry confirmed the circular was issued to establish principles of enhancing trust between members of the police force and members of society within the framework of mutual respect, according to the provisions of the constitution and relevant laws and decisions, in a press release issued by the General Department of Security Relations and Media.


It stated that, as part of the Minister of Interior's tireless efforts to reorganise security controls related to civil liberties and rights, and in accordance with the circular issued, the concerned ministry employees must abide by the provisions of laws, regulations, and orders issued to them by legally established authorities in accordance with legal procedures and controls, in addition to disclosing their job status to the public. It added that members of the police force should demonstrate professionalism, discipline and morals, and act tactfully coupled with firmness without trespassing or abuse of authority, and a commitment to maintain security and order and preserve public and private property.
