Kuwait City: Health Minister Dr. Mohd. Khalid Al Saeed  was speaking in parliament on preventive measures to prevent the spread of the corona virus. The third wave has not put health workers under pressure. He said it was a relief that there was no commensurate increase in the number of cases per day in the number of hospital admissions, but that extreme caution should be exercised. He said the vaccination campaign had been intensified and urged everyone to come forward to get vaccinated as taking booster dose vaccine would boost immunity. The elderly, the chronically ill and those who have not been vaccinated are the most likely to seek treatment.

The number of medical wards in various hospitals across the country has been increased. "We have enough medical staff and the bed capacity of the ICU units has increased to 260 per cent," he said. Vaccination is considered a top priority among health workers because of the large number of deaths of doctors and nurses prior to the outbreak. He said the government, under the leadership of the health department, had tackled the epidemic with the help of other departments and the government had worked hard to provide adequate health care to the people of the country.
