AMBASSADOR SIBI GEORGE SAYS 250 DETAINEES IN KUWAIT WILL BE ABLE TO RETURN HOME SOON

Kuwait City: Ambassador Sibi George has said that 250 prisoners in Kuwait will soon return home. Earlier, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two countries to exchange prisoners. He said the list of prisoners who could be transferred from Kuwait to India had been finalized.


The list has been handed over to the Government of India to prepare for coordination with the prisons in the Indian states. Once the procedures are completed, these prisoners can complete their sentence in their own country. The Indian Ambassador said that an effective meeting was held with Kuwait Attorney General Counsel Dirar Al Assoui. He added that besides the issues of prisoners, other issues related to the Indian community in Kuwait were also discussed.
