FARES FOR AIRLINES HAVE SKYROCKETED

Kuwait City: Air ticket costs to various countries have risen in recent days – up to 120 percent for some destinations – due to heavy demand from locals and expatriates wanting to travel around national holidays. Some travel organisations predict that air ticket costs would progressively rise over the next few days until mid-March, while the price index will begin to fall until prices return to pre-holiday levels.

A number of travel agency owners told the daily that the increase in ticket prices at this time is normal, attributing it to the law of supply and demand; especially since reservations have increased significantly in tandem with the continued decline in the number of coronavirus cases and assurances from officials that there is no intention of closing Kuwait International Airport again.
