Kuwait City: The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's decision to abolish the precautionary measures and restrictions for Umrah has reactivated ticket bookings for departures to the holy land on several national and Gulf airlines. According to informed sources in the travel and tourism sector, there is an increased demand for flights to Saudi Arabia as a result of the decision to cancel the registration of COVID-19 vaccination data to obtain an Umrah permit for those coming from outside Saudi Arabia, to cancel the submission of an approved PCR test, to cancel the institutional and home quarantine, and to cancel the inspection of vaccination status for entering the Grand Mosque in Makkah. These actions have increased the amount of passengers and flights departing from Jeddah and Madinah.

When compared to prior periods, the movement of passengers to Umrah locations has increased by up to 30%. According to the sources, ticket rates are affordable for everyone, ranging between KD 120 and KD 150 for a round-trip ticket to Jeddah and Madinah. According to them, the total number of flights that left for the holy land in the last two days was around 31, with 25 flying to Jeddah and six flying to Madinah. According to the reports, the number of travellers travelling for Saudi Arabia in the last three days would have exceeded 3,500 nationals and residents.
