Kuwait City: To make the purchasing process easier for consumers, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has implemented a system to monitor commodities prices on its official website. The ministry stated in a statement that consumers can use the system to check the costs of basic products at cooperative societies, supermarkets, and other sales outlets before leaving the house and without having to move from one market to another.


According to the sources, price data is entered and updated by cooperative societies, and the ministry monitors and scrutinises them on an ongoing basis in accordance with global effects on prices and the impact of the supply and demand system, as part of its efforts to prevent artificial price increases. 

According to the sources, this system will facilitate the work of the ministry's inspectors and assist them in price monitoring and control, as well as control violations of artificial price increases, which is in the interest of the consumer and helps the merchant determine and adhere to the prices of goods. The system would be updated on a regular basis with the inclusion of seasonal products, with the ministry adding that it was the result of "unrelenting efforts and cooperation" between the Ministry and the Union of Cooperative Societies and Private Central Markets.
