MINISTRY OF HEALTH TO OPEN FIRST LABORATORY FOR BLOOD TRANSFUSION AND STORAGE IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: Ministry of Health to open Sheikh Salwa Al Sabah Stem Cell Center for transfusion and storage of blood and its derivatives. The Blood Transfusion Services Division of the Ministry of Health is launching a new initiative with the aim of providing better health care to patients. Arrangements are being made for the transfusion of blood and its derivatives in the Al Sabah and Zahra health areas.


A laboratory is being developed to store blood and its derivatives in support of the Central Blood Bank. "This is the first such initiative," said Blood Transfusion Services Director Dr. Reem al-Radwan said. The laboratory is equipped with the latest medical equipment required to comply with international standards for the protection of blood and its derivatives.
