KUWAIT WILL DEPORT EXPATRIATES WHO WORKS AS STREET SELLERS

Kuwait City: The Sanitation and Road Works Department of the Jahra Municipality Branch has come up with a plan to completely eliminate street vendors during the holy month of Ramadan. Fahad Al Kharifa, director of the Sanitation and Road Works Department at the Jahra Municipality Branch, said an integrated plan had been drawn up and inspectors would be deployed in two shifts, morning and evening. Officers are assigned in front of public markets and malls, as well as on main streets. 


The municipality will take all legal action, including seizing the vehicles. In addition, confiscation of property, destruction of food items and seizure of other items will be taken. Sources said the expatriates may also be deported. At the same time if they are a bidoon they will be referred to the Home Ministry. Most of those arrested, especially from this category, do not have a civil card or identity.
