SHEIKH ABDULLAH AL SALEM CULTURAL CENTER RECEIVES THE LCD BERLIN AWARD

Kuwait City: The LCD Berlin Award 2021 went to Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Center. The Cultural Center won the prize for New Cultural Design of the Year (Middle East / Africa). Officials expressed their excitement at receiving the honour, dubbed the "Oscar for Museums" around the world. The award was presented to Maha Al Mansour and Talal Al Aqab, representatives of the Amir Diwan Cultural Center, at the awards ceremony in Berlin.


The final list included 38 cultural centres from 21 different nations. The Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Center is one of the world's largest cultural complexes. The museum features 1,100 exhibits spread across 22 halls. The Natural History Museum, the Museum of Science and Technology, the Fine Arts Center, the Arabic Islamic Science Museum, the Space Museum, and the theatre are also housed there. 

The Cultural Center is situated on 13 hectares in Kuwait City's Al Shab neighbourhood. The Cultural Center was built in partnership with Cultural Innovation architects SSH Design Alganim International and Beck Interiors.
