Kuwait City: The US State Department has released its annual report on human rights in Kuwait for 2021. The research sheds light on examples involving government employees who abused their positions and then went unpunished despite all evidence of misconduct. The research underlines that, despite strong anti-corruption legislation, the government has failed to properly apply it.

NASA, the anti-corruption authority, is thought to lack legal jurisdiction to impose stringent anti-corruption measures. This is due to the accused's inability to be apprehended. According to the Kuwait Economic Society, corruption costs the government 1.2 billion dinars every year. There have also been other severe corruption cases, according to the report.
