Kuwait City: The Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is preparing for the Eid Al-Fitr holidays with a variety of new measures aimed at easing airport movement during the 10-day Eid Al-Fitr holidays, when 352,000 passengers are scheduled to utilise Kuwait International Airport, according to figures. According to statistics on passenger and aircraft movement expected from Kuwait International Airport during the Eid Al-Fitr holidays, which run from April 28 to May 7, about 60% of total passenger traffic will be outbound, with 208 thousand passengers on 1,400 flights compared to 144,000 inbound passengers on the same number of flights.

The statistics show the most favored travel destinations during the holidays are Dubai, Istanbul, Sabiha, Trabzon, Bodrum, Jeddah, Cairo and Doha. In this regard. the Eid holidays coincide with the start of the summer travel season for airlines operating at the airport, which will start at the beginning of next May, which increases and doubles the responsibilities of the agencies operating at the airport to provide comfort for travelers and facilitate the smooth flow of their departure and return to the country. The sources indicated that the summer and Eid season this year will witness crowding and intensity at times, due to the increasing demand for citizens and residents to spend their vacations outside the country after the decline of the Corona epidemic and the easing of strict travel restrictions.
