PASSENGERS ARRIVING IN SHARJAH ARE GREETED WITH EID AL FITR GIFTS

Sharjah: This Eid Al Fitr, passengers at Sharjah Airport will be greeted with special presents.


Staff and authorities at Sharjah airport are shown welcoming new travellers with Arabic coffee and Eidiya in a heartwarming video uploaded on their Instagram page. Travelers are greeted with astonishment at the immigration counter. 

Eidiya is the tradition of giving gifts or cash to younger members of the family by older relatives, family or friends to mark the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.

Authorities at the airport were spotted handing out beautiful white gift boxes wrapped in a brown ribbon and accompanied by a card saying 'Eid Mubarak' to passengers.

The video shows travellers who are pleasantly pleased and smile as they accept these gifts modestly.

Some are caught aback by this show of charity, while children appear to be overjoyed to receive the gift boxes.
