Kuwait City: Eng. Ali Al-Mousa, Minister of Works and Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, said he has directed experts at the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport to form a committee with stakeholder participation to monitor the implementation of state projects and remove obstacles, including the South Surra road development project, which includes Damascus Street and its intersection with the Fifth Ring Road.

According to Al-Mousa, the committee's formation comes as work on numerous projects across the country begins. Speaking of the roads project, he described it as critical due to its position, and he is eager to accelerate work to complete state projects while also providing security and safety for road users and workers.

He went on to say that he hopes to see full cooperation from all parties in the joint committee to work with vigour, follow-up, and continuous communication, so that the projects are completed on time while adhering to traffic safety requirements for road users until the projects are completed and implemented.

The South Surra project aims to improve traffic flow, reduce traffic accidents, increase security and safety, and develop the "Fifth Ring" from King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Street to King Faisal Street, up to the Damascus Street intersection, to make it traffic-free between the 5th Ring Road and Ibrahim bin Abdullah Street.
