KUWAIT INCREASED PETROCHEMICAL TARGET TO 14.5 MILLION TONNES PER YEAR BY 2040

Kuwait City: Kuwait has renewed its target for the petrochemical sector, according to official sources in the oil sector. Kuwait aims to grow the basic petrochemical industry's total production to at least 14.5 million tonnes by 2040, emphasizing the need to achieve growth in basic petrochemical products. The new strategy is aimed at improving Kuwait's position globally.


Kuwait aims to increase its production of petrochemical products to at least 102 million tonnes using state - of - the - art technology in collaboration with global partners in the region. By 2040, Kuwait should be producing 15 percent of this. According to sources, Kuwait is now a world leader, producing nine million tonnes of petrochemical products a year, both locally and globally.
