Kuwait City : Despite the official denial of any increase in the cost of essential commodities on the ground, no one can escape the rising tide of inflation, the most recent example being poultry, which saw a price increase that was felt by customers. According to reliable sources, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has prohibited any chicken company from raising prices in cooperative societies or markets. It is committed to the price-fixing decision thus far, which is the same attitude as the Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies (UCCS).This was confirmed by UCCS Director Abdulaziz Al-Sultan during a meeting of the Council of Ministers' affiliated Economic Committee on Sunday, May 22. According to the sources, poultry companies are faced with the decision to fix prices by utilising the defined margin for prices, which they used the bare minimum for competitive reasons. To make up for the cost difference, these businesses reduced their prices to the maximum allowed in cooperative societies, and some even discontinued incentives and discounts.
