MINISTER WANTS FOR AREA TO BE SET ASIDE FOR TRUCK PARKING

Kuwait City: Lieutenant-General Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nawaf, the country's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has asked for the distribution of land for the building of public truck parking lots in the country's northern, central, and southern regions.

In a letter to Kuwait Municipality, he stated that the decision was made due to truck parking and overcrowding in residential neighbourhoods, which contributed to an increase in overcrowding within residential areas, turning them into private parking spaces and leaving them, causing damage to the road infrastructure and breaching security.

Due to a lack of approved parking spaces, Lieutenant General Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nawaf noted that these trucks have become a cause of difficulty and anxiety for the residents of certain locations. The ministry responds to complaints about trucks parked in residential areas, as well as industrial, commercial, and investment districts, by issuing traffic penalties to these trucks through patrol teams and inspection campaigns.

He emphasised the Ministry of Interior's involvement in finding a solution to this problem, expressing his optimism that property will be provided swiftly to create public truck parking lots in the northern, central, and southern regions of Kuwait, in compliance with the processes.
