HISTORIC DECISION, 4 KUWAITI WOMEN HAVE ELECTED TO MUNCIPAL COUNCIL

Kuwait City: The first meeting of the new Municipal Council for the first session of the 13th Assembly will be held next week. Sources said that Municipal Law 33/2016 allowed a maximum of 15 days from the date of election of the six members appointed to hold the appointed session to elect the Council President and his Deputy. 


Yesterday, the cabinet appointed the sixth municipal council. Ismail Haider Behbehani, Sharifa Salah Al Shalfan, Alla Ahmed Al Farsi, Abdul Latif Abdullah Al Dai, Muneera Jasim Al Ameer and Farah Salim Al Roumi have been selected. Four Kuwaiti women are proud to be members of the Council. Rana al-Faris said. He added that the confidence of Kuwaiti women is rising as an essential factor in innovation and development.
