Kuwait City: The Ministry of Finance has asked a citizen to repay the amount of compensation paid for the damage caused by the rains and torrential rains that hit the country in 2018. The ministry has asked the Kuwaiti citizen to repay 12,761,200 Kuwaiti dinars in compensation for damages caused by heavy rains in the country.

The ministry explained that the decision to reimburse the amount came after a judicial decision rejecting the compensation applications submitted by the citizen. According to the letter issued on May 21, 2022, the amount was to be repaid within 10 days. The above amount was given to the citizen by the Ministry on November 12, 2019 following a request submitted to the Supreme Committee constituted by the Ministry to take further action on the issue of rain and torrential rains. The Ministry of Finance had provided assistance to 3,931 persons identified by the Cabinet Nio Gicha Committee.
