KUWAIT ADDED NEW NAMES AND ORGANISATIONS TO ITS LIST OF TERRORIST GROUPS

Kuwait City: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs has updated its list of terrorist organizations with new names and organizations. The action is made in collaboration with the US, which co-chairs the Terrorist Financing Targeting Center with Saudi Arabia. Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates are also members of the Terrorist Financing Targeting Center, in addition to the United States and Saudi Arabia.


These steps are part of the Centre's ongoing efforts to combat terrorism financing. They also underline Kuwait's and other member governments' interest in deepening their cooperation with the US to combat terrorist financing that threatens their interests and security. In addition to the continuing inspections in Iran by the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Security Council recommended that Iran's compliance with Article 7 of the UN Charter be monitored.
