STRICT TRAFFIC INSPECTION IN KUWAIT, 30,217 VIOLATION REPORTED IN A WEEK

Kuwait City: In many parts of the country, authorities conducted stringent traffic inspections. Maj. Gen. Jamal al-Sayeh, assistant undersecretary of the Interior Ministry's Traffic and Operations Division, was in charge of the inspections. 30,217 traffic offences were recorded during the week. There were 11 automobiles seized. Authorities also detained 87 children who were driving without a valid driver's license.


For reckless driving, 71 persons have been arrested. The effort also led to the arrest of 29 people on the General Department of Execution's wanted list. A total of 20 vehicles on the wanted list have been apprehended. There were 2,212 traffic collisions reported. 338 people were hurt in 338 accidents. Meanwhile, the General Administration of Emergency Police detected 825 offences during a traffic check.
