KUWAIT RANKS FIRST IN ARAB WORLD AND 27TH INTERNATIONALLY IN YOUTH DEVELOPMENT INDEX

Kuwait City: The Kuwaiti Youth Council organized the first panel discussion entitled “Youth Diplomacy” yesterday at the Daiya Youth Center of the Public Authority for Youth, with the participation of the Authority’s Director General Dr.. Mishaal Al-Rabee , Assistant Undersecretary in the National Security Apparatus Sheikh Fawaz Al-Sabah and Professor of International Relations at Kuwait University Dr. Abdullah Sahar.


In his speech during the seminar, Al-Rabee said that the promotion of youth diplomatic work will be reflected in the development of all social, economic and sports indicators in Kuwait, which possesses the human, financial and scientific capabilities and wealth through which it can reduce the shortcomings and the gap between them and the developed economies in the world by preparing and developing the youth component to be the basis.

Al-Rabea added that the Public Authority for Youth is working to raise the index of Kuwait, which ranks first in the Arab world and 27 globally on the Global Youth Development Index 2021 issued by the Commonwealth of Nations and reflects the goals of the New Kuwait Vision 2035 that the country be among the top 35 countries in youth development on international indicators, pointing out He indicated that the authority aspires to advance in its projects and programs and seeks to make more partnerships with various organizations and companies, referring to the efforts made by the authority to hone talents and support owners of achievements and initiatives, as it listens to the voice of youth and works to advance youth work to be active in their society.

He expressed his happiness with the first event of the Youth Council, which coincided with the anniversary of Kuwait's independence, recalling the role of fathers in building Kuwait, indicating that it is now the turn of the youth to move forward and complete the march under the constitution in which we enjoy freedoms.

For his part, Sheikh Fawaz Al-Sabah said that the specialization of international relations and university studies have an impact on the personality of young people, and they should benefit from their specializations and the accumulation of their political and diplomatic experiences to serve the country, pointing to the role of young people in diplomacy, stressing the importance of developing programs to develop their skills and diplomatic capabilities to be ambassadors for their country. The best representative of it abroad and to preserve the great legacy of Kuwaiti diplomacy.

In turn, Dr. Abdullah Sahar mentioned that diplomacy in today's world has shifted between state diplomacy to relations between states and non-states "non-governmental entities with each other" that bear political influence, indicating that there is a new mixture of "political actors" that have entered into relations International, pointing out that non-governmental organizations have begun to strengthen, and their number is increasing, and the majority of them are dominated by young people.
