TEST KITS FOR MONKEY POX ARRIVED IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: Kits for monkey pox testing, including PCR, have arrived in Kuwait. A sample from the nose is taken for the test. The Ministry of Health is waiting for the monkey flu vaccine distribution processes to be completed. Only in extreme situations and in close contact is the vaccine administered.


The monkey flu vaccination, like the Covid vaccine, is not required for everyone. This condition can be treated with medications. As a preventative measure against infection, the ministry has established isolation rooms in hospitals. So yet, no cases of monkey fever have been documented in the country. There are no known cases of the virus. They did, however, state that surveillance had been strengthened.
