KUWAIT CONDEMNS "COWARDLY ATTACK" ON FORMER JAPANESE PM

Kuwait City: The fatal shooting attack against Japan's former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe earlier on Friday was sharply condemned as wicked and cowardly by Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In a statement, the ministry recognised Abe's significant contributions to the improvement of diplomatic ties between Japan and Kuwait, as well as his support for regional and international peace and development. According to the statement, the State of Kuwait extends its heartfelt condolences to the Emperor, the government, and the people of Japan, as well as the family of the former prime minister. 


His Majesty Two cables of sympathy were sent by the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and the Emperor of friendly Japan, Naruhito, over the death of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. In response to the death of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah addressed two cables to the friendly Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. 

After being wounded earlier on Friday during an election campaign rally in Nara City, West Japan, the former premier passed away from his wounds in the hospital. His Highness the Amir strongly condemned the horrific murder in his cables and recalled Abe's significant contributions to the growth of the friendly relations between Kuwait and Japan. He offered sympathy to the Japanese people as well as the former prime minister's family.
