LIVESTOCK FARMS DISCOVERED TO BE USED AS WEDDING HALLS AND PARKS

Kuwait City: New activities, such as wedding halls, have been introduced in the cattle pens and farms as a result of the trend of using some of them for non-licensed uses, in addition to those that were previously uncovered by inspection campaigns during which citations and warnings were issued. According to a press release from the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources' Deputy Director of the Livestock Sector, Abdul Mohsen Al-Mutairi, the food security team's most notable violations during the most recent inspection campaigns included using agricultural plots as wedding halls, subletting them, or converting them into guest houses and parks.

These violations are in addition to those that have already been noted, such as using them as factories, warehouses, or carpentry shops, farming outside the boundaries of the plots, erecting livestock sheds, failing to maintain public hygiene, and failing to pay the annual rental fees due to the relevant authority. Al-Mutairi disclosed that the food security team for the sector ran inspection campaigns on the livestock pens to make sure the quantity of sheep, cattle, and camels there matched the records of the authority and the subsidy fodder card granted to it. "The proprietors are requested to determine the site within 72 hours," he declared. The support card is suspended until the situation is changed if they don't reply and give the location.

This contributed to reducing the registered numbers, and reducing the disbursement of subsidized feed, which contributed to preserving public money. Under the directives of the Minister of Public Works Ali Al-Mousa, and with the follow-up and supervision of the Director-General Ali Al-Farsi, the inspectors of the livestock sector recently sent dozens of alerts to violators in the livestock pens in Kabd, Abdali farming, Wafra and Sulaibiya area.

In the event that the violations are not sorted during the current week, it will be cited and referred to the legal sector for further legal procedures to be taken against the violators”. Al-Mutairi called on violators to quickly remove the violations so that they are not exposed to a power cut, followed by the withdrawal of the agricultural plots from them, during the period specified for them in the alert.
