Kuwait City: Education sources confirmed that 4,500 residency renewal transactions for teachers employed by government schools had been completed by the passport departments in the six educational zones as of this week's start of the first sessions for pupils under the "educational loss compensation" programme. They clarified that the educational zones, who began these processes on June 17, were given responsibility by the Ministry of Education for renewing teacher residencies. Teachers were delivered to educational districts in accordance with appointments made in advance.

On average, 50 teachers were welcomed each day of the week. In order to conduct these operations, the Ministry of Interior has assigned three workstations for three staff in each school district. To finish the transactions for its staff members and other central departments, work has been ongoing in the ministry's head office's passport department. Through this department, their residencies are being extended. According to the sources, the Ministry of Education has received permission from the Ministry of the Interior to extend the residences of its employees for two years rather than only one.
