NUMBER OF FEMALE DOMESTIC WORKERS IN KUWAIT INCREASED

Kuwait City: A huge increase in the number of domestic workers coming to the country. It is estimated that 613,000 domestic workers came to Kuwait in the first quarter of this year. However, things are not back to the pre-Covid pandemic. The number of domestic workers is 13.1 percent of the total population of the country. The average monthly salary they get is 100 dinars. It is estimated that 735.6 million dinars are spent on domestic workers annually.



50.1 percent of all domestic workers are women. Earlier, women workers were recruited from 15 Asian and African countries. But now it has narrowed down to three countries namely India, Philippines and Benin. The number of women domestic workers has increased in the first quarter of this year. There has been an increase of 7587 workers. The highest number of female domestic workers come from the Philippines, at 62.8 percent. It is followed by India and Benin respectively.
