Kuwait City: The country has recognized the need to streamline the production of specialty food items to meet the needs of the local market. Its importance has increased with the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine crisis after the Covid pandemic, which disrupted distribution and shipping networks. A good example of this is that farms in Kuwait account for 18 percent of local consumption of dairy products and its derivatives.

The daily demand of dairy products and its derivatives in the country is about 1,200 tonnes. Abdul Hakeem Al Ahmed, the head of the Federation of Fresh Dairy Producers, said that the production of farms in Kuwait is 200 tons. There has been constant effort by farm owners to achieve self-sufficiency in the future and to collaborate with various parties in the sector. In particular, he pointed out that the recent food crisis is long-lasting and may recur in the future.
