INDIAN EMBASSY IN KUWAIT INTENDS TO HOST INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

Kuwait City: The Indian Embassy in Kuwait intends to celebrate India's Independence Day on August 15 "in a major style with involvement of all Indian people and Indian establishments in Kuwait virtually," according to a press release from the embassy. At 8:00 a.m. on the embassy grounds, His Excellency the Ambassador of India to Kuwait, Sibi George, will hoist the National Tricolor and read out the message from the Indian President.


The National Anthem of India can be virtually sung starting at 8:00 a.m. by members of the Indian Diaspora and friends of India in Kuwait to participate in the celebrations. The occasion will be broadcast live on the embassy's social media accounts.

An ongoing event called the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) honours India's 75 illustrious years as a developing independent nation. On the occasion of Independence Day, AKAM is holding the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign. 

All Indian citizens are encouraged to publish pictures of their homes flying the Indian flag on social media, tagging the embassy in the posts.
