KUWAIT HAS MADE OUTSTANDING EFFORTS TO COMBAT HUMAN TRAFFICKING, WHICH IS A GLOBAL CONCERN

Kuwait City: The National Committee for the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons said that Kuwait has a strong interest in achieving the goals of the Global Compact on Migration and Trafficking in Persons. The committee is focused on eliminating forced labor and ending slavery and human trafficking, the committee said in a press release. 


The National Committee for Prevention of Human Trafficking has already rescued more than 400 workers. Looking at the figures from 2018, more than 400 victims were assisted and procedures for voluntary return to their countries were facilitated. Officials explained that the arrangements were made with the coordination of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Manpower Authority and embassies of the countries and with the cooperation of local civil society organizations.
