ACCORDING TO REPORTS, KUWAIT IS SMUGGLING SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF WHEAT POWDER INTO IRAQ

Kuwait City: It is reported that huge amount of subsidized wheat flour is being smuggled from Kuwait to Iraq. The government is making efforts to stop this practice. The General Administration of Customs has tightened its stance after it emerged that these products were being sold in large quantities in Iraqi markets. Strict checks and controls at all customs ports have been proposed to stop smuggling of subsidized products. 


Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company had provided information to the Ministry of Commerce about the company's supplier in Iraq. It was reported that the products of the flour supplying company intended to be sold in Kuwait are being sold in large quantities in the Iraqi markets. Considering the global situation where the food crisis may worsen, all the countries are now stocking up on food products. However, the Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company pointed out that this problem will affect the stock of Kuwait's food products.
