Dubai: The heavy dust storm experienced in different parts of the UAE also affected the services at the Dubai International Airport. Bad weather affected some services after Sunday afternoon, airport officials said. 10 flights scheduled to land at Dubai International Airport (DXB) have been diverted to Dubai World Central Airport (DWC) and other nearby airports.

Heavy dust storms were experienced in Dubai and Abu Dhabi throughout Sunday. Visibility at Dubai International Airport and Abu Dhabi International Airport has reduced to less than 500 meters, the UAE's National Meteorological Center said.

Dubai International Airport officials said in a statement that they are working with all concerned to minimize disruption to services and resume normal operations as soon as possible and regret the inconvenience caused to passengers.

Meanwhile, the airline Fly Dubai has announced that some of its flights have been delayed due to bad weather. A flydubai spokesperson said the situation is being monitored and apologizes for any inconvenience its customers may face due to the bad weather.

The dust storm reduced visibility to less than 500 meters in many parts of Dubai, making it impossible to see the Burj Khalifa and Ain Dubai. Meanwhile, five emirates received heavy rain today. According to the National Meteorological Center of UAE, the dusty weather and rain will continue for the next four days.
