Saudi Arabia to Test Emergency Sirens in Key Cities on November 3rd

  • 20/10/2025

Saudi Arabia will conduct a test of its public warning sirens on November 3rd in several key urban areas, including parts of Riyadh, Tabuk, and Makkah regions. The initiative, led by the General Directorate of Civil Defense, aims to enhance public awareness and ensure residents recognize and respond correctly to official alerts during real emergencies. The specific governorates involved include Diriyah, Al-Kharj, Al-Dilam, Tabuk, Jeddah, and Tuwal.

The test will involve two main components: the activation of physical sirens and the distribution of warning messages via the National Early Warning Platform. At 1:00 PM and 1:10 PM, distinctive alert messages will be broadcast to mobile phones across all regions of the country through the cellular broadcast service. This dual approach ensures the system's reliability and public familiarity with different forms of emergency notification.

Authorities have clarified that this is a planned drill to verify the effectiveness and readiness of the nation's early warning infrastructure. The public is advised not to be alarmed by the sirens and alerts, as their purpose is to prepare everyone for a coordinated and safe response in the event of an actual crisis.
