The 45th edition of GITEX Global, the world's largest tech and startup event, has officially opened in Dubai. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, visited the exhibition, which is being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from October 13-17. The event has drawn a massive global participation, welcoming over 6,500 exhibitors, 1,800 startups, 1,200 investors, and government delegations from more than 180 countries.
To ensure a smooth visit, authorities are strongly encouraging attendees to use the Dubai Metro to avoid the expected traffic congestion and expensive parking near the venue. The 'Park and Ride' service at stations like National Paint, Centerpoint, and e& stations offers a convenient alternative, with a parking fee of 10 dirhams per hour capped at 50 dirhams per day. Parking directly at the World Trade Centre is more limited and costly, charged at 25 dirhams per hour.
In a significant announcement, it was confirmed that starting from 2026, GITEX Global will relocate to Expo City Dubai. The directive from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid means that the 2026 edition, along with the Expand North Star event, will be co-located at the new venue from December 7-11, marking a new chapter for the premier technology showcase.
