Kuwaiti authorities have arrested three civilian employees from the General Department of Land Ports for tampering with the official system that records traveler entry and exit. The investigation revealed that two employees, stationed at the Nuwaiseeb and Salmi ports, abused their positions to input false data. They created fictitious records showing two female citizens were present in Kuwait, when in reality, they had left the country months earlier.
The fraud was uncovered after coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, which found the two women were still receiving government financial assistance without justification. A cross-check of entry and exit records with Saudi Arabian authorities further confirmed the data in Kuwait's system was inaccurate, proving the records had been forged. Upon arrest at their workplaces, the two primary suspects confessed to the charges.
A third employee at the Salmi border crossing was also found to be involved in the scheme to manipulate the automated system. All three individuals have been arrested, and legal measures have been taken against them before they were referred to the competent authorities for prosecution.
