MUNICIPALITY IDENTIFIES 5 LOCATIONS FOR TRUCK PARKING

Kuwait City: Five locations for heavy duty trucks to park have been identified, according to a knowledgeable source in the Municipality. According to the source, the Municipal Council made a number of decisions regarding the designation of locations for truck parking, and the Ministry of Public Works now owns those locations. 


The five sites include, a site in the Jahra Governorate (east of Abdali Road) on an area of 500,000 square meters; truck assembly site in Ahmadi Governorate (east of Sulaibiya Road) on an area of 500,000 square meters; a site in Ahmadi Governorate (Mina Abdullah) on Wafra Road, 500,000 square meters; a site in Jahra Governorate (west of Abdali Road), Al-Liah, on an area of 500,000 square meters and finally a site in the Jahra Governorate (Salmi Road), west of poultry farms, on an area of 500,000 square meters. 

According to the source, the Cabinet decided to assign the Ministry of Public Works, in collaboration with the Ministries of Finance and Interior, to implement the infrastructure for truck parking in the governorates at its meeting on May 4, 2009. According to the records, these five sites were turned over to the Ministry of Public Works on October 18, 2009, and the source confirmed that they comply with all requirements and do not call for the issuance of new decisions.
