NO LAW PROHIBITS EMPLOYEES FROM USING PHONES AT WORK IN KUWAIT

Kuwait City: Twitter users have made calls to stop government workers from using their smartphones during regular working hours on the grounds that some of them are more preoccupied with them than with carrying out their responsibilities. The ministry or entity is not required by law to forbid its employees from using personal phones while at work, according to legal sources. People who responded negatively to this call did so because they believed that it violated their right to personal freedom.

However, this action cannot be taken because of any law or ruling. Given that mobile phones have become an essential part of daily life, advocates urged the establishment of controls that would restrict the use of them to only breaks or when customers are not present. Additionally, they demanded that mobile devices only be used for essential purposes and that no gaming websites or apps be used while at work.
