Kuwait City: Major General Tawhid Al- Kandari, Director-General of the General Department of Relations and Security Media at the Ministry of Interior, emphasised the importance of the family in educating their children about the dangers of drugs and raising their level of awareness. This was stated in a press statement issued on the occasion of the opening of the awareness exhibition (Weyak) to prevent the scourge of drugs, which is being organised in the Avenues Mall by the General Department of Relations and Security Media at the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with Zain Communications Company and the Kuwaiti Cartoon Society.

Major General Al-Kandari urged parents to report their children who are addicted to drugs or alcohol to the appropriate authorities for effective treatment and rehabilitation, without viewing this incident as a criminal precedent. He emphasised that the administration's doors are open to parents for drug-related inquiries, pointing to the possibility of receiving inquiries through the emergency number 112, the General Administration for Drug Control's hotline at 1884141, or the ministry's official social media accounts.

He stated that the exhibition is in response to Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Ahmad AlJaber Al-directive Sabah's to intensify various activities to raise public awareness of the dangers of drugs and psychotropic substances.

He went on to say that the exhibition aims to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs and psychotropic substances on individuals and society, as well as to improve communication with the public in order to achieve integration in the efforts made by government agencies and community organisations. He emphasised the ministry's eagerness to collaborate with society groups and institutions to combat the drug scourge and raise awareness about prevention and treatment options.
