REGARDING LATE PAYMENTS, 17 CLEANING COMPANIES IN KUWAIT COMPLAINED

Kuwait City: The Kuwait Municipality owes 17 cleaning companies money, but they have complained about not receiving it yet. These companies carry out the current public cleaning contracts. According to reports, the businesses have complained to Dr. Rana Al-Fares, Minister of Municipality, about the municipality's ongoing delay in paying its monthly bills. We are working to find a solution to this issue, which has serious ramifications and would cause us as cleaning contracting businesses to suffer enormous losses.

According to the contract's terms, document 1-4 definitions, item 13 regarding certificates and payment, "the general conditions that require the municipality to pay the monthly bill within 30 days from the date of delivery of the bill," the companies explained. The municipality has been receiving bills for a number of months, but they have not been paid within the time frame specified in the previous clause, in accordance with the signed contract.

The cleaning companies claimed that the financial controller issued several new procedures and requirements as a new work mechanism to approve the payment of bills not covered by the contract and did not give them a deadline for implementation, which led to the accumulation of bills owed by the municipality for several months, some of which amounted to eight months, which were not paid despite the possibility of many effects and disadvantages.
