  • 27/08/2022

Kuwait City: The price has dropped significantly as a result of an increase in shrimp arrivals at the market. The cost of a kilo in the stalls ranged from 3 dinars to 15 dinars, while a basket was auctioned off for 15 dinars in Sharq Market. The decrease follows a spike in shrimp prices earlier in the month that reached 66 dinars per basket.

The market has become more enthusiastic again since the fishermen returned to work after their holidays. 700 baskets of 22 kg shrimp were also put up for auction. The Ummunayriyya basket cost between 50 and 55 dinars, whereas the Shahamiya item was sold for between 15 and 20 dinars. A kilogramme of shrimp costs one to three dinars at the Sharq market stalls, depending on the size.
