TODDLER KILLED IN FEROCIOUS SPANISH STORM BY GIANT HAILSTONE

In Spain, a 20-month-old infant lost his life after a hailstone struck him in the head.

A further 50 people reported injuries from the bizarre storm that struck the Girona region of Catalonia on Tuesday night, ranging from bruises to bone fractures.

It shattered windows, destroyed roofs, and brought down power lines.

According to Catalonia's meteorological service, one of the hailstones had a diameter of 10 cm (4 inches).

It is the biggest storm to hit the area since 2002.
